Our Values

The Heart of Radiant

The Gospel

It’s all about Jesus. We don’t mean to over simplify it, but it’s really that simple. If you come to Radiant Church, you’re going to hear a lot about Jesus. It is His life, death, resurrection, and return that sets us free from sin and sets us loose to discover our purpose.

Next Generation

We believe that the university campus is one of the most strategic places for gospel ministry in the world, so we value reaching students through The Salt Company.

Neighboring

We believe God puts us where we are with intentionality, so we want to live where we are with intentionality.

Multiplication

We believe in God’s Mission to forward the gospel to the ends of the earth, so we value reaching, training, and sending leaders beyond just this church.

Contagious Generosity

We believe that generosity is something Jesus calls us to. Whether it is our time, talents, or resources, we want to be generous in all that we do. We are generous because Jesus has been generous to us.

Intentional Honor

We believe that everyone is made in the image of God. Therefore, we find joy in championing, celebrating, and honoring the people around us.

Our Beliefs

The Message We Believe

The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Bible alone is inspired by God, therefore it is absolutely true and the final authority for what we believe and how we live our lives.

2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21; Matthew 22:29; John 5:39; John 17:17; Romans 15:4; Hebrews 12:4; 1 Peter 1:25

There is only one God, who is one being, but within the unity of the Godhead there exists three co-equal, co-eternal persons. God is one, and yet the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all equally and fully God.

Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Corinthians 8:4-6; John 1:1; Hebrews 1:3; Acts 5:3-4; Luke 1:35; John 5:21-23, 14:10; 2 Corinthians 13:14; James 2:19

God is ever present, all powerful, all knowing, eternal, and unable to do wrong. He is love, holy, righteous, true, faithful, gracious, merciful and unchanging. God is the ultimate Creator of everything. God is above all that exists, yet chooses to be actively involved with His creation.

Psalm 139:7–12 9; Jeremiah 32:17; 1 John 3:20; Deuteronomy 32:40; Romans 8:28; 1 John 4:8; Leviticus 11:44-45, 19:2; Numbers 23:19; John 3:16; Malachi 3:6; 2 Chronicles 12:6, Ezra 9:15; Exodus 34:6; Genesis 1-2; Psalm 146:6; Isaiah 57:15; Psalm 97:9; Job 38-41; Psalm 113:5-9

Jesus is fully God, yet at the same time fully human. Jesus lived a perfect life, purchasing him the ability to be the substitution for us in satisfying God’s standard of perfection. The punishment for the sin debt of the world was laid on Jesus in his death. He is the only pathway to right relationship with God. He defeated death in His resurrection so that we can have life.

John 1:1, 8:58, 10:30; Romans 8:3; Philippians 2:7; Galatians 4:4-5; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:22, 2:24; John 14:6; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; 1 John 2:2

The Holy Spirit is fully God and equal to all parts of the Godhead in nature and attributes. He provides followers of Jesus with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, prompting and guidance in doing what is right, and conviction of sin. He gives gifts to accomplish His work of exalting Jesus. As followers of Jesus, we seek to live under His control daily.

John 7:37-39; 14:16-26, 16:7-15; Romans 8:26-27; Galatians 5:16-25; John 3:5-8; Ephesians 4:30; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11

Mankind was created in the image of God. Mankind was created to have fellowship with God but became separated in that relationship through their own sin. As a result, mankind cannot be reconciled back to God through their own effort. Jesus is the only way for all mankind to again have a right relationship with God. Every person is created uniquely and all people possess infinite value and dignity making them worthy of unconditional love.

Genesis 1:26-27, 2:7, 3; Romans 3:10-18, 23, 5:6, 6:6; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22; John 14:6; Ephesians 2:1-10

The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people recognize the weight of their sin and place their faith in the work of Jesus as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gracious gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts.

Isaiah 53:5-6; Matthew 1:21, 27:22-66, 28:1-6; John 1:12, 3:16, 36; Acts 2:21, 3:19, 4:12, 16:30-31; Romans 3:23-25, 5:8-10, 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 1:18; Galatians 2:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:22; Titus 3:5

The church is a unified local community that exists to lead more people to become more like Jesus. It is committed to be like Jesus in all areas of life. The Church works together in love, intent on the ultimate purpose of bringing glory to God.

1 Corinthians 12:12-14, 12:27; Ephesians 2:19-22, 4:11-12; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-47, 16:5; Colossians 1:18

The Salt Network:

Our Network for Planting Churches

Our Vision: Radiant Church is a part of the Salt Network, a  network that is actively working toward planting new churches to impact communities across our nation. We believe that the church is God’s means to make an impact on a community, and that the most powerful impact on a person’s life is through a relationship with Jesus Christ in the context of a local church community. Partnering with The Salt Network and The SEND Network, we hope to see this happen in the state of New York. To learn more about The Salt Network and The SEND Network click below.
